Our comfortable and modern vacation apartment (flat) is the ideal base for a vacation in western Poland and/or Central Europe. Renting our apartment allows guests the opportunity to enjoy the full beauty of nature, forests, lakes, romantic and timeless Polish villages, Polish culture and Poland. The apartment (flat) is located right in the centre of the small and attractive lakeside town of Lubniewice in the province of Lubuskie. Prior to 1945 the town was known as Konigswalde and was part of the Prussian province of Neumark/East Brandenburg, Germany.  Our apartment is available for holiday let and rental throughout the year and has its own separate direct entrance, a large living-room, fully equipped kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and large balcony. The apartment has been recently upgraded with new kitchen, bathroom, and furniture. The little town of Lubniewice is located in an area known as the Lubuskie Lake District of the far west of Poland. The area is an excellent location for lovers of nature, canoeing, horse-back riding, fishing, hiking & cycling. The area is also dotted with many interesting historic sites of interest to lovers of German and Polish history and culture. Lubniewice is a beautiful place to relax for you and your family. Lubniewice is an excellent place to source good, healthy Polish food and drink. Eating establishments in the town include a couple very good restaurants, a pizzeria, ice cream and fast food outlets, and a range of bars, offering a vast choice of local Polish food, vodka and beers. Should you wish to cook your own food, Lubniewice has a daily street market selling locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables and a selection of small traditional local shops. If you want to eat for free, the forests which surround the town are full of delicious wild mushrooms, blueberries, and game, such as wild boar and deer! Renting our self-catering, self-contained holiday apartment for a vacation will allow you to get 'away from it all', but still leave visitors within easy reach of the undoubted attractions of major cities like Berlin (Germany), Poznan, Szczecin, and the lesser known cities of Gorzow Wlkp and Zielona Gora. Day trip opportunities around Lubniewice include: the world's tallest statue of Jesus in Swiebodzin; the nearby large city of Gorzów Wlkp with its impressive range of shops, shopping centres, hypermarkets, bars, restaurants, night clubs, Polish jazz club, and large multiscreen cinema complex. Crystal-clear lakes; such as those in the town itself, in nearby Lagow, and countless lesser known and little explored locations.  The River Obra canoe trail. The impressive Miedzyzecz Underground Bunker and Fortification system built by the Germans in the 1930s. Numerous castles and palaces. There is an abundance of Polish, Jewish, and German history all around the area. Old steam train locomotive rides in Wolsztyn (the last fully-operational mainline steam train depot in Europe). The world famous birdwatchers paradise, which is the Warta Slonsk Wildife Reserve ... and much more. All this and the bright lights of the large cities of Berlin, Poznan, and Szczecin, less than two hours drive away. Visit and drive around the Zoo/Wildlife Safari Park. Fun for all the family at the newly created Dinosaur Park. Discover out-of-the-way locations and get some exercise through geocaching and more than twenty locally-placed GPS geocaches. Canoe and kayak on the River Obra and Warta or the more than one hundred lakes within an hour's drive of our flat. Explore the extensive Underground Bunker System built by the Germans along what was the Polish/German border in the 1930s. See the location of the Second World War POW camp made famous by the film, the Great Escape, or the museum at the former Polish Officers' POW Oflag camp at Woldenberg. See the world-famous giant Jesus statue in Swiebodzin. Visit little-known, almost lost, pre-war Jewish and German cemeteries and historic monuments. Delve into the mysteries of the Knights Templar and Knights of St John by visiting their castles and chapels in the area. Take a ride on a mainline steam train from Wolsztyn (Wollstein) . Explore the remains of the nineteenth century Küstrin Fortress City and almost intact Napoleonic forts such as Fort Gorgast built along the River Oder (Odra). Go wild mushroom and berry picking, bird and wildlife watching in the forests and unspoilt countryside of the district.
